A Murmur in Bird Space

Did you ever ask yourself how all those birds swarm together with such precision? A murmuration they call it. How each of them knows down to the millimetre and split second exactly where they need to be in 3D space, labouring under the influence of gravity, from moment to moment.

And yet they retain perfect formation, at least for a while.

Or how you can catch an unexpectedly thrown object out of the air within one tenth of a second, and all the neurons needed to do that light up in unison and stay active for half a second after the event.

That's non-locality and non-linearity right there. Your quantum brain calculating the best options and sending the results back in time to when they are first needed.

The brain acts instantly, the moment it gets the first stimulus. The one tenth of a second delay is how long it takes for the instructions to get to the muscles and make things happen.

The melody here is a bird inside the murmuration, or an athlete making a play.
