D'ye Ken the Rain Temple?

from The Quantum Orchestra by Peri Urban

/

about

I live in Scotland. It rains a lot.

I love the sound of the Erhu, and I played one previously on some Tranceport stuff. A single stringed Chinese violin. The one you hear on this track is electronic, but almost better than the real thing.

I think this one might be set in Hong Kong. It has that east meets west feel for me, but it's definitely about eastern consciousness.

The operatic ego here reminds me of Empire, then the electronic voices making little sense. Can an electronic being truly have a mind? It can if it too is connected to the quantum world in the same way we are.

Who knows? We might make something better one day.

[It often turns out that the most alien place on the planet is right under your nose the whole time. We never know what we've got.]
